Standing to the side of his console was the Time Lord known as Orsherlockarut and he seemed a little worried. Not because of the universe was in danger or he was going to die not exactly that pressing or maybe it was, teaching a time tot to drive might be a little bit dangerous. As he kept his arms crossed over his chest at which time he said to her "Keep her steady, don't forget about the navigational computer system double check the course." Nodding as she worked he began to walk around the console with his hands behind his back planning on letting Vanessa handle this herself. She would be a great Time Lord oh wait Time Lady as he smirked at that mess up in his head. A beeping from the console caused the usual response from him as Orsher's finger went to flip the switch but caught himself in time and remarked to Vanessa like a dad teaching their kid to drive"Readjust for spatial drift don't want anything bad to happen do we?" She wasn't doing half bad for her age, she was quite clever ad he knew it.
As he began to walk away from the console the whole TARDIS shifted to almost on it's side and red became the dominant color in the control room. As the Time Lord lost his footing and grabbed onto to the console for support. "Now why does this always happen to us," Orsher muttered as he struggled to reach the controls. The console screen indicated that they had flown to close to a recent supernova knocking them out of control. "Oh no, Vanessa quick flip the thermo buffers on to maximum." Taking a breath before trying to access the console circuits under it he said to her while he worked "To close to a supernova, we only have a few moments or we become the biggest bang in the universe, since the first one, just try and stay ahead of the alerts, I'll materialize us." In his head he couldn't help but think hopefully as he started to try and override the safeties As he worked on trying to manually materialize Sanguine, sweat was coming down his forehead like a waterfall. As the console above Orsher started to spark out from the thermo buffers overloading from the starin from holding back the excess energy from the sun.
Fire erupted from around the console as if the pits of hell had opened. While the flames almost burned him, but he kept working till finally the fires faded and the alerts finally stopped. The Time Lord had done it with a sigh of relief as he stayed on the ground "You ok up there," as he closed the console panel. Taking her hand to get up and dusted himself off, "Alright we should check the damage, lets hope we have the parts." As he went to the screen for the damages as he read the first line he said to her reassuringly "You did great, real great a lot better then I would have at your age, now we don't you head over here and check this out with me" Orsher took his eyes off the screen to see if she was really ok and he could use the extra hands right now.

So far away from home but so where she belonged, within the forefront of danger and a place were the joys of adventure could be found. But where she found herself at that time though was not one of those events, it was not entirely what she enjoyed. To her learning to drive a TARDIS was like that of a young teenager who was so nervous that they drove the speed of a snail, though truthfully she was not driving at the speed of a snail but she was not entirely confidant about what she was doing. As she moved to deal with what he was telling her the young blonde couldn’t help but double checking herself, even tripling if she wasn’t sure, to make sure she was not making a mistake. She wanted Orsher to be proud of her, after all he had taken her out of the academy (which could lead to harsher consequences down the line, you never know) and taken her on the greatest of adventures (even if a little dangerous) she ever imagined she would ever face. It was just driving; she would rather face a creature that was about to rip out her two hearts than do this. Hearing his instructions the young blonde quickly moved to do as he said, her eyes focused upon the machine.
But she found herself suddenly thrown slightly backwards; her hearts seemed to leap into her throat as she found her eyes become more alert at the situation. Her head turned, her ears captured Orsher’s orders of what she needed to do, and she needed to focus upon what was at hand. As her eyes looked over the console she struggled to keep herself close and alert upon the controls. She hadn’t notice any supernova coming up, how did she miss that upon the screens? The twang of guilt seemed to resonate within the young time lady as she could not help but search over and over again with her eyes, while her hands worked, for where se had gone wrong. Her head turned as she looked towards Orsher, how he seemed to try and take over control of the situation. Her teeth gritted as she felt, for the first time, true fear start to take over behind that of calm and serious. The blue eyes within her features slowly flickered back to the controls, she didn’t know what else to do; she had done what he had stated and she couldn’t do much else without his help. But just before the fires flared up the young woman found herself slowly stumbling back, her eyes focused upon the Time Lord she was companion to within the last few days or even weeks.
Her arm rose as he blocked the sight of the flames from her eyes, she couldn’t help but hold her stance. Vanessa maybe of not been as clever as he was, though she would later become that over years of experience, she knew that the flames would of killed in pain if it had come in contact with him. “Orsher are you okay?” Vanessa found herself asking at the same as he asked her the same thing. She quickly rushed forwards to help him, her eyes showed that slight flicker of worry. “I am fine, just a little startled that is all.” She admitted. Her eyes focused upon him as she listened to what he had to say, his words were so kind. She smiled a little, his compliment was enough to make her feel better but yet at the same time it didn’t. As good as she was there was still things she needed to learn, driving a TARDIS was still high up on that list and she wasn’t too pleased “Okay Orsher.”

The Time Lord said over the console back to his companion reassuringly "I'm good no more worse for wear." As she helped him up nodding his thanks to her it had been nice to have some help now a days then before when he was traveling alone but this was really nice. As she told him that she was fine that made him feel much better glad that she was unhurt. Orsher dusted off his coat as he stood up from the help. "Glad to hear that, nice landing if I do say so myself." As he went past her to the screen on the console to check the damage. What he said seemed to have an impact on her as Orsher saw that smile on her face and that smile made him feel good as well just like he was looking at the Mona Lisa or something along those lines.
He didn't know why it was just a feeling that he liked someone else being happy and it was infectious, but in a good way. As she agreed and made her way to check out the readout along with him, Orsher went on "Well the damage is minimal and we have the parts that's good."
Then his eyes drifted to the bottom of the screen which read an energy build up was occurring due to the Thermo buffers overload. "Now that's odd don't ya say?" he asked Vanessa. Gesturing for her to follow he went under the console while saying "General check up and all no worries." As they went under, the console the screen lit up saying that the fluid link was melting from the heat. When the panel was removed the two of them were hit by extreme heat, shielding Vanessa with his arm as the heat dispersed into the room. Clutching his arm as he stood up with a few curses from different planets under his breath has he jumped up and down. "I'm fine," he struggled to get control himself after his little fit. Which point most of Sanguine's lights went off and the illumination was coming from the barely on console.
Running past Vanessa as if he was a man on a mission, he double checked the screen and it showed what he feared. Orsher sighed an almost defeated let out of breath, "The fluid link melted and with it we lose power." Looking over to Vanessa he went into teaching mode again, as he wiped his face with his hand, "The fluid link is essential for providing power to the ship." Taking a breat has he gestured to the part of the panel where the fluid link was held, "The Fluid links require mercury to function, which we don't have any of because of my (sigh) last experiment."
Then Orsher had a thought as it flashed in his mind and his face grew with that idea smile. Whipping around to the controls, "Alright we still have power, not much mostly the batteries but," thinking out loud as he spoke. "Now if I'm right which I usually am because, yes I am amazing," which the screen beeped at him, which the Time Lord whooped and hugged Vanessa even picking her up in the hug. Coughing he placed her back down, gently "Yes there's some civilization out there, dead but should have just what we need."

Those were not exactly the words she needed to hear come from his mouth at that moment in time, ‘No more worse for wear’ was just as bad as saying ‘I am fine, just a small cut’ and it end up being something like a mile long. Her heart seemed to pound against her chest like that of a little hyper jack rabbit, her rib cage caught up within a withheld breath. Barely into her twenties and things were already starting to look like she was going to turn gray before she was twenty five, she would be so glad when she could finally drive without a hitch...Her stress level would decrees so much. “Nice landing minus the fact I nearly drove us into a supernova,” Nessa muttered under her breath as she moved after the older Time Lord. “Thank you Orsher.” The later of the sentence said at the right decibels for the other to hear clearly what was said. Her blonde hair bounced behind her as she moved to join the other’s side to see what he was reading. Best way to learn was always field experience it seemed, at this point she had already learned; TARDISes can get annoyed enough to lock you out (she wasn’t entirely clear on the fact it wasn’t entirely the TARDIS) and ever trust being safe in a gathering of other Time Lords. Orsher and Sanguine had already taught her so much! As her eyes focused upon the reading she heard it translated into what she could understand, her eyes looked to Orsher. It just seemed too consequential that Sanguine had not sustained much but a bruising from the way that she had landed.
Her eyes soon flickered to the screen, even she could tell there was something off about the energy read up and she didn’t need Orsher to tell her what it meant. “Just don’t get Barbecued okay, after the last thing that happened I don’t think Sanguine or I need a beef jerky Orsher.” Nessa admitted whole heartily, despite the slight laugh at the end. Vanessa fell behind Orsher as he moved towards console, her teeth bit into her lip. The last time he went under there she had seen more than she actually wanted to, it made her wonder what other dangers lay within the TARDIS itself. Her head suddenly turned as out the corner of her eye she had noticed the screen had changed, she didn’t have full time to turn back around to see what was happening. When her attention had returned she found herself looking at Orsher, he was protecting herself from being hurt. Her heart dropped from her chest into her stomach, her hands reached out in more of a reaction of trying to help Orsher. But as soon as she had seen him protecting, the next moment she saw him gripping his arm, jumping up and down and cursing. A smirk started to cross Vanessa’s face; those eyes sparkled with the upcoming taunt as soon as he informed her that he was okay. “Next time maybe you want to make sure it is actually safe before going under Orsher, I hope you have a first aid kit or something upon here because I am sure that needs to be looked at and sor-” She stopped in mid-sentence when the lights went off.
Her head turned upon hearing Orsher’s explanation, her mind taking in what was being said before she nodded. Her feet carried her up the steps, her arms folded as she nodded a little bit. “So no more flying near Supernova’s and no more experiments and we won’t have to do this again…ever.” If only life was that easy, but there again she just wanted to get things clear and sorted out in her mind enough that she remained level headed throughout the whole thing. Attentive at that moment she was not, her attention was focused upon how on earth they were going to get out of here now that they had no fluid link, her nose scrunched upon before she found herself taken up into a pair of arms. At first glance she was very unsure of what was going on; her eyes flickered from until she finally got what he meant. She could not help but finally smile once again, her eyes focused upon Orsher as she nodded. “Okay then, let’s go!”

OOC: Didn't wanna put too much of the planet surface in this post ore fun for the next one
He was glad she liked his compliment it was really hard to get the talking proper with people nowadays. Anyway they had much work to do hopefully get off this rock without any trouble. Shaking his head, Orsher knew that would be doubtful at best, horrible luck seemed to be after the two of them for awhile now. Rubbing his head this was starting to worry him but he didn't show it, Time Lords trapped together then someone came and stole them. Waving it off to just a coincidence, now if something else happened to make it bad Orsher would start to worry but he couldn't shake that feeling. Except he had more important things to do get his ship ready to go and get away from here it just felt like the right thing to do in the core of his being and he didn't know why but he wanted to find out.
When she made a remark of barbecue, the Time Lord raised his eyebrow in quizzical manner, and said to her with a wave "No worries, never been hurt on my ship and never will." He wasn't going to tell her of the sparks and shocks that had hit him over the years but that was neither here nor there. While under the console he just ate his words when the heat from the console burned him. As he jumped around he thought he saw Vanessa look well hurt emotionally but then he saw her smirk at his injury which made him smile a bit it just seemed funny to him. Pointing a finger at her with his smile "That's not funny, not at all," which time a laugh escaped his lips, bad times made the most funny times for most people. Her question about the first aid kit he waved it off the burn was first degree at best and his coat was fine so nothing..... which time the lights went off into blackness except for the console's screen and controls. His ship was out of power and this was quite unsettling for him as his eyes flew over the controls thinking over his shoulder he heard her say on how this could never happen again. Over his shoulder Orsher saw Vanessa cross her arms on his face it seemed to age a bit as if Orsher turned into someone else "Possibly but life is never easy for journeyman like us or is that journeywoman."
After the impulsive hug she didn't seem to mind which made Orsher's uncomfortableness to lessen. Not to mention her ready to go investigate didn't hurt either. On the main console he saw the radiation detector that told him of outside danger went over into the red which would be very bad for the duo if they went out without any protection Snatching a bottle of pills from under the console which was Velcro to it, he popped one of the pills. "Here take these radiation pills the planet is radioactive very radioactive which is very odd, reminds of a place from a long time."
His attention over to the girl he told her honestly "Well that's the funny part I can't remeber it was a long time ago, now enough of the past, ladies first and all that." As he gestured to the door and followed her out of the ship unto the planet's surface. It was well, rocky would be the best to describe where they had landed, near the mountains but on ground level and they could see the grass plains up ahead. "So this should be fun," he didn't let it slip but he had thought hopefully.

Vanessa could not help but smile when he pointed out, laughing himself, that it was not funny. Truth was, it was, they had crash landed after she accidentally flew too close to a supernova, then the main thing to power the TARDIS was gone, and now he was hurt. It seemed like fate was after them, it seemed like with all the stress that had just happened to over come them during the critical moments of worry and fear actually was released in a different way then one would have thought. That was why Vanessa had laughed, because it was a release of the gathered stress that she had just withheld in those few moments. This was why she enjoyed travelling with Orsher, because he made things enjoyable despite the disaster that it came from. This would be the sort of life she would want to continue as soon as she got her own TARDIS, she would want to travel the stars with someone beside her and just enjoy it. No matter what the stress, what happens just to be able to laugh and think that they had just got around the most dangerous situations possible?
“Well I thought it was funny,” Vanessa commented as she smiled. “It seems like fate is against us.” She slowly moved her way through the control room and closer to Orsher, her eyes searched the inside of the TARDIS. At that point everything he said her mind was turning around to a more comical meaning, especially what he said next. “Well I don’t know you can be a journeywoman if you want Orsher but I think you suit journeyman better.” Of course she had known what he meant but it was just a means of release, she was releasing the terrible guilt of being the reason they were now stuck upon a planet that they didn’t really know about or knew if it was that safe. What if she had flown them into a death trap, what if…That was the word that had previous going through her head not long ago. Now she was forcing herself to release the tension. Vanessa held out her hands as he gave her the radiation pill, her eyes looked down upon it as she raised an eyebrow. Obviously this world was not as safe as she had thought, but there again was anything safe for a Time Lord now a day? Her eyes focused upon Orsher, her weight leaned back more into her left foot as she listened to what he had to say. Radioactive, well it could have been worse now couldn’t it?
Vanessa smiled when he admitted about a story he could not remember, and to be honest it made her wonder how old he really was. She was sure by the time she was his age she would no longer remember small stories from her earlier years, she was sure this story of how she got herself and her Time Lord stuck upon a planet would be a long distant twinkle in her eye when she was older. Her hand rose up as she took the pills she had been given, her mind now focused upon what was going to be beyond those doors. It made her wonder, would there be any riches or beautiful plants which were secret deadly.
What she saw was not exactly what she expected; stepping outside her eyes just looked around with curiosity of what she had gotten them into. Her arms folded as she felt her blonde hair flutter behind her slightly, her eyes searched the image of the scenery taking it all in. “This should be, but let’s just hope we don’t get lost.” She commented, at current now starting to think of all the worse case situations that they could get themselves stuck in while being there.

Orsher had to laugh with the girl she had an infectious laugh and it made him feel better even if his TARDIS was in trouble and not knowing exactly where they were. All and all if you can't take a breath and laugh what's the point of traveling out in this wide universe. It felt good the first real laugh he had since before the Time War and he forgot how good it felt as the laugh left your body making you feel happier about things that had gone wrong. Controlling himself again as he clapped his knees to bring get back to work and control the fit he had just had.
Quote:| “Well I thought it was funny,” Vanessa commented as she smiled. “It seems like fate is against us.” |
|
Chuckling as she made her towards him he looked her over "Nonsense, I've made Fate nice lady she likes me because of my charm," he said but kept his voice solid to sound like he was serious about that and he might very wel be. With the lights off he began to turn the backup lights on o give the Time Lords some light then Vanessa responded back to his comment about journeymen that he thought was quite profound.
Quote:| “Well I don’t know you can be a journeywoman if you want Orsher but I think you suit journeyman better |

"Probably yes, yes, wait what did you say?" he asked her but then quickly responded "Yes to that last one but come on time is of the essence." A smile on his face "Always wanted to say that one, no matter how many times you fly around the galaxy you never get a chance to say it," Orsher said to his companion as he made his way to the door for their entrance to the world that they had landed on. Except this thought as plaguing him as they left the TARDIS where were they he felt like he ws here before but when. His coat flaps drifted in the wind of this dead world but in Orsher's gut the fear churned in his stomach.
They had landed right outside a rock quarry in fornt of them was a hill with grass upon it "Interesting grass that survived radiation levels like this," he thought out loud. Brought from his wandering thoughts was Vanessa herself got to be glad she's around sometimes especially when Orsher's mind decided to take a holiday.

Moving his eyes toward her and seeing her hair flutter n the air and he never realized how young she was and here he was bringing her to places like this. He needed to make himself feel better and her along with him with the pit in his stomach getting bigger. "Nonsense Sanguine knows how to get my attention and how could we lose her right here just remember the quarry, come on, he replied to her.
Orsher began heading up the hill to check his surroundings and where everything was so not to get lost. As they reached the top the Time Lord got a lok at the planet and it seemed whatever happened here was starting to heal itself mind you very very slowly. The trees were up to the east but they looked like they were grey almost like stone, while to the west was more rocks and the North was empty for quite a few miles was a city or debris that held a city.... hopefully. Orsher pointed at the city and said "There we go get inside, get some mercury and get out fix Sanguine and were home free no worries."
The Time Lord started down the hill across the plains to the destroyed city thinking he needed to help his young companion not blame herself. Orsher had noticed how she had been acting and it wasn't her completely her body language was off not to mention her speech patterns "It's not your fault none of this is, you know, I mean you need to know when to blame yourself this isn't it." He took a breath before going on while continuing forward with a content look on his face "This would have happened anyway you know, I was going this way anyway it caught you surprise no big deal."
