Tori didn't mind helping save ancient civilisations from stereotyped, clichč bad guys; but she was kind of tired, exceedingly soggy, and the beginnings of a headache from wonderful shadowman were beginning to chew on her synapses. That coupled with the news that Atlantis was actually going to sink while they were on it had dragged her mood down somewhat. So while they all kind of hung around in the drizzling rain, Tori scuffed at the ground uncomfortably - the Axilianč was only a few meters away, and Tor glanced over at it while the locals held a lot of sharp implements. While it wasn't in a threatening manner, Tor backed up two steps, her tails of hair shimmering with the movement, like a human confronted with a snake.
They just stared, which added to her discomfort.
Oh, fun times ahead, girl.
It was kind of awkward, a few of them standing there eyeing her off while Theon was having a stab at a conversation with Mr 188-SINKATLANTIS man. And the worst part was that she knew that they had to let the place sink; history dictated that they did so, and to go against the function it served would be like dropping a stone into a calm pool. Norman soldiers would rock up in Manhattan and hack innocent bystanders to death, the black plague would break out in the 23rd century. If there even was a 23rd century; for all she knew Time might just go 'well screw you!' and stop in 1976 or some random, inconsequential year. They were still staring and Tori was starting to get annoyed; had she grown a horn and two tails?
Was she wearing rabbit ears?
Did she have 'SEE THE AMAZING TIME LADY' written in magic marker on her face?
Self-consciously she folded her arms around her waist, hugging herself deeper into the snuggly warm jacket.. mm.. warm. She let Theon handle the talking, simply because public speaking still wasn't her thing - that and he'd already started, plus that would mean they all looked at her. Do not want. Leaning back on a grey brick retaining wall, which looked out over the storm tossed ocean garnished in lacy white shrouds, Tori pulled herself up to sit on it, swinging her legs against the side. And then they started talking about orbs, and Tori stopped mid-motion, one eyebrow raising. A glowing orn? Seriously?
Never a small twig with a matt-black rock on it. Just glowing orbs.
"Well, that's not overly clichč," Tori whispered to Theon, leaning over her wall so only he could hear. And her antisocial fringe made sure that couldn't see her eyes or face, either. Ahaha. Suckers. "Well.. do you guys know where this magical orb thing is?" Tori asked, turning to address Mr Chiefman.

Feeling Tori’s annoyed reaction to their staring, Theon couldn’t help but smirk a little. She wasn’t exactly a normal looking girl – and not in a bad way, either. Maybe they had some prophesy with a girl with long, black hair that constantly fell into her face – with ice blue eyes. That seemed like the most rational idea, anyway. These people seemed to know what they were talking about, and it wouldn’t surprise him if some ‘seer’ saw this a cabillion years ago, or whatever. Seemed very Atlantis-ee, anyway. But that was all a myth.
The idea of ‘Atlantis’ was a myth carried down through different generations and cultures. Each modified the civilization so it sounded more epic and ahead of their time. Maybe they were – maybe they weren’t. Now being in Atlantis, however, Theon couldn’t help but admit that they were pretty close. Their technology seemed pretty advanced and it had the cool, mystical feel that the tales professed. Maybe even with all the pollution, the heart of the tale of Atlantis would live on. Well – he knew it would. But sometimes history could change, right? What if they did something wrong – but right – and Atlantis didn’t sink?
In order to help these people, they had to $% up history, which would seriously muck up the rest of the Universe. They couldn’t not help them though – they were being kind and saved them. And what if they were supposed to help them? What if Atlantis didn’t sink unless they helped this half of the Atlantis civil war? If they chose not to help because it would ideally lead to the normal future of Atlantis – waterlogged. But what if that didn’t work out, so their best effort to preserve time ended up $%ing it up? Damn paradoxes.
“How do you know this is all going to happen and what you need?” Theon asked, his accent still bringing a smile to his lips, as he put himself between them and Tori. He trusted them…sort of. Didn’t mean that she needed to be in harm’s way. Or continue to ponder why they were gawking at her. “The prophesy.”
Wow, these people were easy to read.
“The prophesy?” “Dark haired girl with funny hair, and ice eyes – with a boy with matching eyes, were supposed to be here today to save us. And here you are.” “Were their any details of the ‘boy’?” a sudden curiosity overwhelmed Theon. “The tales differ for his appearance. Some have him with shorter darker hair with what was called ‘glasses’ looping around his eyes. Others have your very appearance. We can only assume that there are two boys that could have withheld this prophesy,” the leader male professed, causing Theon’s mind to swirl with ideas. There were two paths he could have taken to save Tori. Two very distinct paths. Wow – time was weird.
Glancing over his shoulder at Tori, he smiled, “Someone predicted two different paths. Either one of us goes back and tells the tale from two different time lines, or they have some kick-ass seer in their past,” he whispered.
"Well, that's not overly clichč," Tori whispered to Theon, as they learned their new mission "Well.. do you guys know where this magical orb thing is?"
“It is in the temple or Melbra just down there. Or legend says, anyway.”
“Okay – let’s go,” Theon mumbled, grabbing Tori’s arm and darting away from the other half of the war, “We’ll come back when we’ve got it!”
“May the Gods bless you,” the leader bowed his head, as Theon glanced over his shoulder as they moved away from them.
